The importance of insuring your lab move

Insurance can sometimes be overlooked during the complex process of arranging your laboratory move.
It is a process that involves many other things to consider, and if you do think about Insurance you may assume that your logistics company will be ‘fully insured’.
This is not the case; all logistics companies operate under Terms and Conditions which limit their liability. If you look at their small print you will see that their financial liability, should anything go wrong, equates to a fraction of the value of your assets.
For this reason we have a facility with a specialist insurance company allowing us to arrange insurance for the full value of your assets.
To enable us to provide you with a quotation, we need to establish the value of your items to be relocated. If we are moving new equipment this is straightforward, as the value will be the commercial invoice value of the goods. Otherwise we are looking to establish the replacement value of your goods.
Also worth considering is insuring the cost of the move. This can be a substantial outlay, and in the very unlikely event that something goes wrong, for example a vehicle fire during transit, in addition to claiming back the value of your property, you should be able to claim for the cost of the removal, provided this has been added to your total sum insured.
Insurance is important to us, and we will guide you through the quotation process to ensure that the cover we arrange for you is suitable for your requirements, and you are properly reimbursed should the worst happen.
