A Mass Spectrometer is usually attached to a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, or ‘HPLC Stack’, and the process of de-commissioning, moving and re-commissioning generally takes the same amount of time?

Like most laboratory equipment, Mass Spectrometer instrumentation is very sensitive and it is always crucial to check with the original equipment manufacturer or vendor before beginning any move to make sure you do not invalidate the warranty.

Aport has significant experience in moving laboratory instrumentation and equipment, and can liaise with vendors and original equipment manufacturers prior to any decommissioning and recommissioning work. This ensures the work is carried out in line with their protocols and standards.

Once we have liaised with the vendor or original equipment manufacturer, our specially-trained engineer would decommission the instrument.

Assuming you are moving the Mass Spectrometer to another building or premises as part of a move involving other lab equipment such as the HPLC Stack, you will need two or more additional crates which Aport will provide.

Aport will place the Mass Spectrometer into the crate following the vendor or original equipment manufacturer’s specific brief.

If the Mass Spectrometer or QTOF relocation is within your building, there is no need to place the instrument in a bespoke crate, but professional transportation equipment is still utilised.

Aport’s global laboratory relocation service can help you through the whole process of de-commissioning, moving and re-commissioning of laboratory instrumentation and equipment, wherever you are based in the world and wherever you need to move to.
