Aport celebrates great first month in new Cheshire base
11/10/2021 / Integrated relocation
Aport has settled into its new premises in Cheshire.
The business, which specialises in laboratory relocations and moving scientific equipment, data and samples all over the world, moved into a new base in Alderley Park over the summer. The £247 million development near Macclesfield already has a thriving scientific community and is home to a number of organisations working in science and technology.
Aport’s Cheshire office has now been open for more than a month. And the team is already starting to establish links and build relationships with neighbours in Alderley Park.
Jane Wood, Aport’s business operations and development manager, said: “We have had a great first month there. It’s a fantastic location for any business working in the life science sector.
“Thank you to all who have made us feel so welcome. We look forward to meeting more of you and helping solve your laboratory relocation challenges.”
Aport met some of the residents at an induction event where they got advice from companies who have been at Alderley Park for a while, including Biocair, and learned more about what opportunities there are at the science park.
And on September 9, team members also watched the start of stage five of the 2021 Tour of Britain, which saw cyclists begin that day’s race outside Alderley Park’s Glasshouse before riding through Cheshire and finishing outside Warrington’s famous Golden Gates.
Aport chose to open an office in Alderley Park in response to a growing demand for its services, partly as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic leading to a boom in the number of laboratories carrying out testing, research and development.
